Here is a statement from the library regarding an imminent snow storm; in the event that the library is open, you are expected to work your shift:
"Jay and I discussed the possibility of the campus being closed tomorrow based upon the latest weather reports. In the event the campus is closed tomorrow due to inclement weather, all libraries will be closed as well. The decision to close or delay opening the campus is made by 5AM. Announcements begin on the radio, TV stations and University hotline, and website around 6AM. For library staff who work 2nd or 3rd shift, if the campus is closed for the day then the library will close at 8AM. Closing and clearing the building should begin around 7AM. The building will remain closed until 8AM on Thursday. Building monitors who normally work 1st shift should report to work at 7:30AM on Thursday to open the building.
If the campus delays opening an hour or two the DuBois Library facility will remain open. Branch Libraries would open at the time the campus opens with staff responsible for opening the library reporting 1/2 hr. earlier.
New this year is the possibility the campus would be closed during the day; however, would re-open at 5:30PM for evening activites. In the event this happens, 2nd shift staff should report to work at 5PM and 3rd shift staff should report as normally scheduled.
The library hours voicemail will have a message announcing whether the building is closed, delayed opening, etc. The phone number to call is 545-0414."
