Upcoming Event: Verizon Grant Celebration

All staff are invited to celebrate the generosity of the Verizon Foundation and its support of the digitization of the W.E.B. Du Bois Papers.
.
This program will be on Friday, April 3, at 11 a.m. in the Learning Commons. UMass President Jack Wilson, UMass Amherst Chancellor Robert Holub, and Donna Cupelo, Region President for New England Verizon, will be attending. Former Chancellor Randolph Bromery will talk about bringing the papers to campus and MaryNell Morgan will sing selected "sorrow songs," Negro spirituals that Du Bois included between the chapters of his best known book: "The Souls of Black Folk," published in 1903.
.
While the temporary disruption in available workspace may pose an inconvenience to some, gently remind students who voice their concerns that there is wireless throughout the library now and that this is a major event for the University.
