Mind the art.......

The display cases in the LC should be cleaned multiple times a week. Remember that cleaning a display case is the equivalent of cleaning one computer. All it takes is some windex, paper towels and elbow grease.
.
Bottom line: When its busy and tough to clean a workstation, check the display cases!!!

Its survey time again!!!!

It’s that time of year again! Our seating sweeps survey will begin this Sunday (2/22) and will be done at the bottom of every hour (:30) until the following Saturday (2/28).
.
The purpose of the survey is to accurately count the number of patrons utilizing the resources of the Learning Commons. These numbers will be used as a gauge to help determine the future course of the LC.
.
The supervisors will primarily be responsible for completing the survey, but your assistance may undoubtedly be required.

**UPDATE regarding List Serve**

When picking up a posted shift, always
remember to 'cc' our list serve:
.
lc-students-l@library.umass.edu
.

This way, both student staff and supervision will know that any posted shift has been taken.
.
If you pick up a shift and fail to 'cc' the list serve, the posted shift will remain open until it is accepted by someone who
does 'cc' the list serve. Questions? Ask a supervisor!!!

Important review concerning fire alarms........

Given recent events, it is important to review the current procedure in place concerning fire alarms. .
.
In the event of a fire alarm, the main priority is for you to evacuate the building. Most patrons will be trying to exit the building via the stairs. You should calmly head out the side entrance by the advising station which leads towards the campus pond. Meet other LC staff near the minuteman statue and be sure to check in with a supervisor and stay by the statue. (No trips to the Bluewall)
...
When leaving, it would be helpful if you could try to lead others out with you. However, your first priority is to open the door, exit the building, and stay by the statue.

Cha-ching!!!!

Paychecks can be picked up this Friday after 10:00 A.M. They are distributed every other week. You will need to sign for them. Questions, just ask a supervisor.
