HOW TO ADD PRINTERS

If you would like to use a printer somewhere in the library and you do not have that printer set up on your computer, you can set it up yourself.

1. Click on the start button.
2. Select Run from the start button
3. In the Run dialogue box, type \\umalstf6
4. Click on the OK button in the run dialog box
5. From the list of printers that pop up, double click on the name of the printer you would like to use
6. Enjoy your newly installed printer

UCARD OFFICE

The UCard Office has an updated website! It has a lot of information in it, including News and Announcements where they post important timely information about their service. It looks like they update this regularly to announce news and/or problems with the system.

I found out that a damaged UCard can be replaced for only $6. Most students think that it costs $20 but that's only if they've lost their card. There is a lot of information here and it's kind of fun to learn all about the UCard. (I'm not sure why their web address is so strange; not a umass.edu address).

Please read the message below this regarding use of the Learning Commons desk computers. You will see that we have a new clean desktop. Only supervisors are allowed to load software onto these computers.

If you have any questions about the use of the computers, please ask your supervisor.

The LC Desk Computers

Please remember that the LC Desk computers are NOT for your personal use. This means that you are not to put software on them or store your personal documents on them. You are not to add your own personal accounts to the LC Desk Meebo IM program.

Recently various programs have been downloaded to the LC Desk computers including gaming programs. This is not allowed. Per Library Systems, downloading of programs to these computers is prohibited. Both computers have been encountering login problems recently due to downloading of files to the LC Desk profile.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Hi Everybody!!!! :-) A happy Thanksgiving to all....

GET PAID FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK!

I just want to remind people that they need to fill out the orange/red notebook thoroughly and in a timely manner. You should be filling in the white sheet and the blue sheet when you work your shifts. Please total your hours on the white sheet at the end of your work week. Also, please fill out the blue sheet in the back by printing your name, signing your name, and recording when you started and ended your shift. Do not fill out shifts before you work them; fill them out on the day you work the shift.

Recently we've had some server outages so in order to avoid missed and/or inaccurate paychecks, please remember to fill out THE ORANGE/RED NOTEBOOK!
